Play Silkies Wani-Wani Watina
A play silkie with a stunning Indigenous Print by Brooke Sutton. Every corner is a different world of colour and design. It’s not the play silkie for the subdued and simple.
it is a vibrant colour filled explosion of imagination and delight.Â
Brooke’s interpretation of ‘Wani-Wani Watina’, which means ‘To swim side by side’ in the Kalkadoon language, is a beautiful and vibrant addition to any play space.
The Kalkadoon people, from the Mount Isa area in Queensland, have a strong connection to the sea. They used to travel north to the gulf country to hunt and gather food, and ‘Wani-Wani Watina’ depicts the graceful agility and beauty of the sea and the sea creatures that have learned to live together with respect.
Play Silkies are proudly designed in Melbourne, Australia and made from the highest quality, 8mm (momme) Habotai Silk.
